LOCATION / JACKSON, WY
This 10,000sf vacation home was designed to accommodate the neighborhood design requirements, which stipulate pitched roofs and a building exterior in keeping with traditional farm structures. The client wanted a modern open house with extensive glass. By using a deep overhanging pitched roof containing all of the bedrooms, the ground floor common spaces could be very open to the landscape. Defined by extensive glass walls, these spaces are connected by a continuous circulation spine and each have their own spatial quality. The house includes the main house, a garage and great room connected by a glass bridge and a detached barn with a guest apartment on the second floor. Exterior materials are local stone, recycled highway snow fencing, slate roof on the garage building and metal roofs on the remaining structures.
